whois contact number

Does any know of any free or inexpensive phone number options for the whois contact number, other than using 555-1212? Hopefully it is a number assigned or associated to me but not plan to answer, at least not on a regular basis. I tried using my real number. However, I had to call the phone company to change it after receiving many spam calls and repetitive calls from a very unhappy person who let his name expire. I could get an extra number from the phone company, but hoping for a cheaper alternative.

I use skype number. It's $60/year and has free voicemail + caller ID. You can forward voicemails to email and read there (they also have voice=>text option).

you could always use a cell phone that you rarely use. they are pretty cheap these days.
