Whois for .ws domains?

Hi everyone -

Uwhois.com gives no information except when the domain was created and when it was updated.

http://website.ws does not say anything except for the domain availability. It also provides a form to send a message to the owners.

Question is: Are there any whois search engines for .ws domains that will provide full registrant information?

Thank you!

I have tried the following .ws whois servers on my webserver

whois.worldsite.ws

whois.samoanic.ws

whois.nic.ws

Using telnet and the Linux Command ( from the shell ) :

whois sex.ws@whois.nic.ws|more

They all give short whois

www.whois-search.com does the same .ws whois

It appears that the .ws registry is restricting the information they are putting out from their whois database.

They do give you a form for contacting the owner of a domain however - should you have a valid reason for doing so.

Western Samoa does not require you follow ICANN and US recommendations for full and accurate disclosure, to track down fraudsters and terrorists.

It's not clear to me what IANA requires for ccTLDs in the way of a whois service or otherwise making data available on registrants.

IANA is a powerless and ineffective entity, since the introduction of ICANN and big business into the internet equation.

Don't blame you, witt. I think they have been decimated. Seems all policies are decided by ICANN now. The internet is becoming a totally political place today. When something becomes too valuable and prominent, the corruption starts.

Sigh!
