New one sucks imo, Old one is way better..Big Mistake, Im sure they will lose a lot of traffic, even with redirects, They are moving from a cool name and ease of lookup eg whois.sc/google.com

Well "Domain Tools" accurately describes the service they provide and its a dot com.

Personally, I never understood why they opted for a .sc extension so I think this domain change is for the best.

Domain Monitor will remain free, it will not require a Silver Membership. Look for that change in the next two weeks.

I is a super duper paid up member of the whois.sc secret society and I won't remember the domain tools name. Don't care about the .com myself, and I'll continue to head over via the .sc

whois source is what it means in my mind, whois.s(our)c(e)/domain.com which is way easier to remember than something like domaintools.com/whois/domain.com or alike

I am glad to hear domain monitoring is still going to be FREE.

I felt the old setup was great and didn't need the "update"
but I will embrace the change (they are going to do it anyhow)
and hope to find the change a worth wild verture for them and for ME and all of us.

I'm actually able to log inside both sites using the same email addy and pw.

Another aspect, though admittedly a small detail, is that the new site is on a .COM domain.

Many people promoting ccTLDs and other non-.COMs use whois.sc as an example of a popular site not in .COM ... well not anymore ... it's now a .COM too.

The more things change, the more they remain the same ... .COM remains as popular and important as ever for branding / promotional purposes.
