In light of StartName seemingly dissappearing from the face of the net, I thought about it, and put together my own link/tool page. If anyone has any link recommendations, let me know. I started with many of the links I saw at StartName, and I'm gradually making it more a reflection of my own observations and insights.
The entire webpage is database driven, so I'm pretty much making changes on the fly as new inclusions are made.
BULK WHOIS
I've updated the FreeWho.com bulk whois feature to NOT require an extension, so you can actually type a list of one-word keywords, and click the check for the dotCOM versions. Alternatively you can search for up to 5 other extensions quickly.
REGISTER A NAME
Powered by WebsiteNexus.com, this search allows people to get numerous alternative name suggestions on a large number of extensions.
TOP SEARCH
WhoisZ's TOP search features a searchbox for: AcronymFinder, Alexa, Archive.org, CompareYourClicks, DomainSurfer, Google, NameWinner, Overture, Pool, SnapNames, and Whois.sc. This is also database driven, and plans in the future are for WhoisZ users to be able to customize the options that appear at the top, as well as add their favorite engines dynamically.
Anyway, thought I'd make an announcement.
