Will companies give you sh*t for using their name in your domain?

i see theresa windowsvistaservicepack on ebay for 3/4 mil$... how abbout registering names with microsoft, or honda, or big companies names? any help appreciated thanks

a lot of it comes down to how they are used. If you just park them or try to sell them, you can get them taken away from you. If you turn them into something meaningful, you have more chance of keeping them.

Forum, informational site, etc. Read some of the stuff in the legal section for more ideas. Yes, most of us are here for the money. But the most legit way is not always the most profitable way in the short-run.

aww thanks.. that brings up a real noob question, but can you give me the cliffnotes on how a forum makes money? i never knew they made money.. ads?

It's VERY hard to make money from forums. You have to have substantial traffic with a large member base, serving PPC ads and banners. Just like this one which also is able; by virtue of its reach, to offer extras to provide income streams like enhanced memberships and commercial in-house services. If you're starting out, don't think you'll make quick money from forums!

Having said that, you can get away with using company names with forums.
