Thank you,

A famous star, but have you considered you could infringe his name that he may suit you?

good lcuk

Where can I get the domain professionally appraised? I would like to do it with a good company for a cheap price. Any suggestions?

As a lot of us know the pay for appraisals often value your domain for much higher than what it's really worth. I don't see how that would be effective unless you just want to feel good with your appraisal. You're likely to get more of a realistic appraisal or just thoughts on a name here..

Hi Ramprage

yesonline is right, it is not "sellable" - the only way it can be sold or operated is by another Will Smith. Also it's a dot tv, those still need time to gain value.

Well whats stopping him from doing a Will Smith Fan site? Wouldn't that get around any questions about him infringing on Will Smiths name. He can't be accused of cybersquatting then.

Try EchoArts.com for a professional appraisal. I have had descent luck with them.

His post basically "voids" the fan site thing. His intentions are clear, resale. If I where Will, I would take it from him.

There have been a number of WIPO cases where the fan club defense failed. It is still a trademark infringement regardless of it being a fan club.

If the TM Owner wants it bad enough they can still get it via WIPO more often than not. If it's a developed site they can still get it via WIPO action. Even licensed affiliates who actually sell the TM products have lost their names.

The TM Issue makes the name worthless, especially since it's a .TV extension

Why are .tv domains "worthless"?

WIPO bait indeed, but not an open and shut case if you had a legitimate use for it. I agree with Tippy, this post has hurt your case and can be used against you to prove 'bad faith'

do they ever sell? maybe the absolute premium one word names have some value still, but 99.9% are junk in my view.

I was successful in WIPO defending my domain, that also shared it's name with a famous rapper.

I was one of the few though where there was no evidence of bad faith.
Damn dude, thats a sweet name, and with 15k hits a day. You must be raking it in on that name.
