Just curious, and now understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder, what would the retail appraisals of the following domains be, ballpark:

WineGuys.com
WineGal.com
WineFan.com
WineCruise.com
BuyBrandy.com
WineBlog.net
WineShipper.com
WineLabels.com
WineTips.com
WineResorts.com
WhiteMerlot.com

Have many more but wanted to see if I have a good eye or am just deluded.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

Thanks Craig,and seriously noted.

I am looking for $$$ appraisals for a reason, financing. Local financing, as a business development plan is attached to the entire portfolio at:

http://www.afternic.com/names.php?best=1&u=10837

Please appraise with$$$ amounts if possible.

Thank you,

I like wine names which are popular varieties and flavors such as WhiteMerlot.com (perhaps the best one on your list above) but tough to value it. Those kind of names seem better to me than wineguys type of names.

In the past I seeem to recall you had hundreds of names like that but now I do not see so many specific wine names in your Afternic portfolio. Do you still have them or perhaps have a seperate list?

Only have about 275 on Afternic, still have quite a few not listed. Ready to develop the lot, not buying too many anymore unless they are primo. Got all but 3 for the drop fee and renewals.

Cheers!

I would develop one of them well eg I like winetips very much and then forward the other 275 to that main site.

:ok: My thoughts exactly Ed30, the name WineTips has a much broader appeal to it as it isn't specific to one type of wine for example.

Yes, broader appeal perhaps but a reason specific names are better in some ways is they are more likely to get quality targeted natural typein traffic whereas broader generic names will tend to get less highly targeted traffic.

Thanks for all your input so far.. Still need $$ appraisals if anyone has opinions. RE: WineTips.com - I have a plan to publish a tip a day to keep people comiing back - Friend of mine is compiling a book of wine tips he has writen for a radio show he has done over the last 10 years. Also plan to use subdomains for specific subjet matter such as Red.WineTips.com etc.. The whole portfolio recieves a about 1000 type-ins per day and more as we get closer to the holidays. Time to harness the traffic better and create an entire network, but again I need some specific $$$ appraisals.

Thanks everyone, you have helped support some of my theories on development of these domains.

Cheers!

If that is the case then your best bet by far would be to pay for appraisals from several better known domain appraisal firms. Normally they will appraise your names significantly higher than members here and also be more credible in the view of the lender or bank. They also often come with a real official looking certificate with the domain on it and certifying its value. That would seem to get you much better financing terms than appraisals from domainers.

Thanks trader, just curious tho, are these types of names hard to ballpark, and if so why? Too targetted?

Cheers!

Agreed. That's exactly why you should point the other domains to the main site.

No, that's not the problem as the better targeted the easier they are to value. It's just that appraisals are often too subjective for me. Look at Duke's DNJournal and you will see odd names sold for amazing $ every week.

Sometimes names which we may consider little more than reg fee names but sold for big money because the right buyer just happened to come along at the right time and fell in love with the name.

Hopefully other members could give you appraisals. Good luck.
