Wlan is the regular Shortterm of Wireless Lan.
Lan = Lokal Area Network.

Nearly all DSL Router that you can buy are already equiped with Wlan.

But this is not the major point. the major Point is that all the areas where you can not get DSL will be served soon by Wireless Internet Access. And this is called WlanDSL or wirelessDSL

today the people ask: "Do you have DSL?"
tomorrow they will ask: "Do you have WlanDSL?" (I hope)

Freddy

I don't think so..
I think that they'll ask "Do you have wireless access?". I see wlan as a more techie thing.
WlanDSL seems also redundant.. if you type WLan on google you won't find a wland dsl string in the first 3 pages.. all Wlan entries.

You are right, for the moment.
Do you know how the sell the wireless access in germany?
They call is "DSL ohne Kabel" translated: "DSL with out Cable"
So I think there is a chance.

well. Here in italy we call it WiFi adsl as well.. but that's not the point.

I see no connection between wireless names and dsl. If DSL get replaced by FQL (fantasy name) then you'll have a wireless FQL.
Wlan is too techie (reducing type ins) and linking it to DSL reduce type-ins even more.

Granted,you could develop it.
But then you can also develop ThisIsACrappyDomain.com, right?

don't take any offense for that, but I don't think that the domain name has any value.

The terms don't really match well. WLAN doesn't require a DSL connection and vice versa so the words are disparate IMHO. Good luck though!
