Hi,

As you might know I have a huge love and belief towards domain name forums - there isn't any other form or a social media group that allows us talking about domain names and also selling our digital assets to one each other in such an organized way.

I have started working on a GitHub repository https://github.com/helmuc/Domain-Name-Communities/blob/main/Domain-Name-Forums-list.md and your help would be most helpful adding the missing information.

I have sorted various domain forums by the established date and divided into:
  • Active Forums – currently running communities
  • Registrar/Brand/Corporate Community Forums – company-run forums on their own subdomains (mostly registrars)
  • Empty Startup Forums – newly created forums with little to no activity yet
  • Dead & Closed Forums – no longer resolving or inactive

@nicenic hi, you are very active at many forums globally - are there any forums that we have missed that you already use? Thank you.

@MapleDots how does this look? :)

@Rubber Duck - David, do you have a Linkedin, please?

--

there are more dead (closed) forums, especially the registrar or service members communities.. I will add these later as well.

Hi Helmuts,

Thank you very much for sharing the information.

#1 I checked out your list on GitHub, and here is a forum that might be missing:
BlackHatWorld – Mostly about online marketing and SEO, but they also have a section for domain buying, selling, and management that could be useful.

#2 It might be helpful for DNForum to add a section specifically for discussions about registrars, domain management, and industry tips. This could make it easier for users to share knowledge in that area.

I’ll go over the list and help update it if I can. Let me know if you need anything else!

Kind regards,
Helen

Hi, for this ("domain" categories at popular forums) I have a different list: https://github.com/helmuc/Domain-Na...n/Domain-Name-Categories-at-Popular-Forums.md .. and, bhw, of course, are there :) .. desptite them banning my account since 2007 (I think) - that is where I learnt that forum owners should be careful with keeping moody admins/moderators :)

I was planing to keep it separate as it could grow to hundreds of forums. .. do you think popular forum "domains" categories should be included in the same list? Tx

100%!!

hummm... thank you for pointing this out! I can't believe we don't have this section here. .. I'm on it.. it seems I can see which 2 categories can be merged :)

.. on it :)

@DNF Admin please don't be surprised when you see these changes ;)

@nicenic or.. shall we rather have a full section with subcategories :? .. the more I think, the more I think we would need a proper Registrar/ Domain Business section

Just a slight error: "The list is sorted by established date and divided into three categories:" You state three categories then show four. You could have "...divided into these categories:"

I'm not even sure if I would have categories. You could have a column in the table like "status", then you could have values "active", "dead" etc. You could have "type", values "Startup", "Corporate" etc.

Is it just me or has the French forum changed from DomaineForum.fr to https://www.forumndd.com

Can we elaborate on what happened here a bit?

Yes, this was a deal that was innitiated by one of the original NDD Camp (French domain name events) David Chelly, and a couple time David stepped in and carefully guided us through. Without him it probably wouldn't happen.

The announcement:

domaineforum.fr now redirects to forumndd.com

in short > the original DNForum for French is back online

There were rumours for a while that DNTrade was going to be reopened to registrations but that seems dead in the water.

At this point one could almost say DNTRADE is dead

don't write it off yet :) .. it is serving a full continent and is owned by Trillion (owners of Above.com).
