So my question would be to all - you never consider traffic, or existing links - or anything else when basing a value on a domain name? Just curious, I have standing offers on both of these names and wonder how you come to value a domain name.

Lew, most people that are going to appraise your domains here spend about 5 seconds doing research. It's really not worth posting a domain in this section if you want a real evaluation.

I think most appraise here on name value only and don't take into consideration links, future development promise, etc.

Face value.

more like a face value in the darkness of night. They can make out the shape but that's about it.

Not as valuable as Act.com but if they have received offers, they are valuable to those buyers.

Ever hear the expression that was used in real estate in the old days?...that, "Your first offer is always your best offer." Over the last few years, I have found that to be true, quite often, in domain sales.

P.S. JH has been a hard working and successful member of the domain community for a long time, and I respect the way he tells it like it is. Sometimes the truth is not very popular. The Iraqi Information Minister did not gain much respect with his approach.
