For Sale Would you sign a petition against WLS to support Dotster?

Well,
we had a lengthy chat yesterday about the WLS and stuff and i thought it might be a good idea if we, the DNforum community would manage to bring up a list against WLS where every member (that is against WLS) would sign ( or at least agree on having their name on the list) with their name.

So we then could send the list to Dotster to support them should they indeed enforce legal action against Verisign.

I'd think Dotster will need any kind of support they can get in that fight so that's something we could do and it would not even cost us money.

I would even suggest that for that issue DNforum.com should join forces with Domainstat*.com as this matter is more important than silly competition whatsoever.

Maybe we could also join forces with DK's board in that regard.

www.antiwls.com or www.antiwls.org is a little forum we made. There's a petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/antiwls/ already, with 3600+ signatures.

Things have been pretty quiet with the appeal lately, but I think Dotster knows we love them, and hate Verisign. We love SnapNames too, but just don't want them to be a monopoly.

I'm sorry to bring up a point that I'm sure you all have covered before - but I haven't been paying as much attention to this issue as I should have. If WLS comes in, how is that going to affect the other registrars other than Verisign?

In other words, if Tucows drops a name that would not be subject to WLS would it, as Verisign has no control over them? Verisign would have no way to gaurantee you get a name held at another registrar would they?
