WOW or ugh?

Ok, now i heard some guys talking about how many hits their new sites were getting in a matter of months. Some to be honest sounded so out of this world that when i asked for stats, i got weird looks lol

I wanted to ask all you with more experiance...
a new site, up with virtually no back links yet, just advertising by word of mouth from a couple staff members and a couple of banners on some sites, that in about 3 weeks, got like, 4000+ unique visitors with about 3,8million hits....

How would you rate that site, is it a good thing, really good thing, normal for a well developed site or what...inlighten me

(oh and yeah, so people dont ask this question, its a webcam chat site, also has a forum there and photogallery, arcade, and so on.)

What's your view on this?

Almost no 'real' advertising or backlinking or good search engine rankings, directory listings, only about....3banners, and 8 people spreading the word online via forums and chats.

Well from those answers, I take it this is very good news!
its simply a forum that the members passed around by way of mouth really, about 300 active members and so on.
No paid traffic at all, only thing that was paid for was the hosting lol

The traffic is consistent and we are almost at 3.9million hits lol.

But what i really wanted to know, was how well this rated interms of 'good' traffic for sites, if that makes sense?
