Domainers,

I need your appraisal on the domain WPDEVELOPER.COM that I own for more than 10 years.

# .COM extension
# 11 lettered name
# NO Hyphen or Number
# 12 years old
# EMD for WordPress Developer
# No copyright infringement from WordPress / Automattic as they recommend to use WP instead of WordPress in domain name
# Phonetically sounding name (I use to say the domain name to my clients over Skype / voice call & they access the site without me repeating the name again)

I get a decent target audience traffic through which I get leads for WordPress projects.(I don't / haven't spent money in promoting , so I don't get tons of traffic)

A perfect fit for a Web Design firm specialising in WordPress like mine.

** I'm not looking to sell this domain or site as it gets me decent business revenue, just wanted to get my domain appraised.

Hi

nice domain for that market

well worth 4 figures at reseller pricing and 5 figs to another enduser.

Good Luck!

imo...

@Biggie , thanks for your appraisal :-)

Just wondering when people say 4 figures & 5 figures ,
because 4 figures ranges from 1,000 till 9,999 & 5 figures ranges from 10,000 till 99,999 , so the range is very wide .
How do we evaluate the price / cost ?
I'm just asking out of curiosity , I know the premium price for any domain is the actual money that the buyer is willing to buy.
Thanks again for your appraisal.

once you know the range, then you can pick a price out of the blue, within that range

or you can put prices on a dart board and have a toss.

it's up to you, to decide how much you want for it.

imo...
ha..ha.. well said
True , its the price anyone is willing to pay that decides the value of the domain .
Thanks again.

lol I'm guessing that doesn't mean the same in US as it does in UK :p
Guys lets not deviate from the purpose of this thread :-)

Please only appraisals if you have any , as that would help me to evaluate.

Thanks again for your comments.

Hi

I suggest you delete that thought process, from your mind.

because, it is NOT the price that anyone is willing to pay, that decides value of the domain.

as the value of the domain can exceed what any one buyer can afford

so, do you sell to that buyer, who is willing buy, but can't afford your price
or do you wait for the buyer who can pay the price you are asking?

does the "value" of the domain change, in either case?

imo....

Well, as someone who operates in this category, I think you have an excellent domain. I think "WPDeveloper" pretty much gets to the heart of what the domain is for.

My only negative in the domain is that it is somewhat limited by being niche to Wordpress (which, it is the largest CMS by far...) and then development at that. So that undercuts the general population, although only just a bit.

Considering the popularity of the niche, I'd lean towards a reseller value in the lower-mid $x,xxx range. I would not be shocked by an end user sale in the lower $1x,xxx range to some development firm.

Well said & I truly agree to it.
Only when the owner is keen / urgent to sell it ,then the buyer's value comes into picture.
Whereas the real value or actual value , depends on the right buyer at the right price.
You are very true , I would change that mindset from now on :-)

Thanks for your appraisal @DMaN .
To clarify your thoughts , though its exclusive for WordPress Development , you can make it appeal to general population by making it a website that provides tutorials / plugins / themes / blogs etc,..
Otherwise you can make a forum for WordPress Developers & Designers to share / promote their plugins & themes & services.
This is what I have been planning to do , but do lack in certain areas , so looking for the right person to join hands with me.

Thanks again for your appraisal & I appreciate your time & effort in doing so :-)

Great name for that business, approximately how many leads would you say it brings in on a monthly basis?
Thanks for your response.
I had sent you a detailed info on PM.
Let me know your acknowledgement & response.
Thanks.
