XHR.org
__________
- This is not the usual random LLL.org with no actual meaning. This is actually a 1-word domain consisting of a very popular technical term. Read below for more information.
- Web 2.0 is one of the most talked about topics on the internet today. Webdevelopers will probably recognize the acronym "XHR", without any explanation needed, but for the rest of us, here's a short explanation of what "XHR" is:
"XMLHttpRequest (XHR) is an API that can be used by JavaScript, and other web browser scripting languages to transfer XML and other text data to and from a web server using HTTP, by establishing an independent communication channel between a web page's Client-Side and Server-Side."
In other words, this is a very central API used in AJAX/Web2.0 development.
XHR is used in the following websites:
* Google's Gmail service
* Meebo
* Google Maps
* Windows Live's Virtual Earth
* MapQuest
.. and many others.
You can read more about 'XHR' on it's wikipedia listing at:
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/XHR
- 'XHR' also means 'eXtreme High Resolution'
- Will sell or send to auction at the first reasonable offer!
