Do xml/rss feeds on websites help in SEO? Will google catch the text of an inserted XML feed?

If you insert the feed via 'floating' it with javascript, then NO.
If you publish it into the html of the page, then YES.

Depends on how you insert it.

thanks MH, maybe you give me a little help.

I'm looking for a PHP script that can display an RSS feed to my site. I need it to be presented that is controlled by CSS, so if the RSS feed contains an image, a description etc, I want to display them all on my site that looks good, controlled by the CSS.

Can you help?

I have used CARP which is great, but getting confused on customisation, and displaying images.

Once you get your scripts setup, the html will be controlled by whatever css your using.
No problem.
First you need to get the output printed in the html. Have you gotten that far?
The html will naturally be controlled by the css specifications you declare.
