.xyz Celebrates Four Months: Almost 100,000 Active Websites

.XYZ Registry completed its four months on October 2nd, 2014. It is the most popular and fastest growing gTLD launched so far.
As of now, it has 551,086 registered domains and has nearly 100,000(98,883 to be exact) active .XYZ websites.

Where do you think this is leading to?
I mean 550,000 plus registrations is really a big figure, that too in four months!

Everyone knows it is given away for free. And that makes me even more skeptical about any website that has .xyz in their domain name.
