The Search Wars have intensified, as indexing of Asian Languages for Search is rolled out unannounced.

You can now search the web, not only in Google, but also with Yahoo and MSN in local characters. Lanaguages supported have increased dramatically.

All the main search engines now support Russian, Arabic, Thai, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and Malayam and probably more!

This is good news for IDNs

Yes, obvioiusly for IDNs in certain languages it is essential that those languages are enabled for search.

Even more important is the potential for Ad Revenue that the search engines obviously see and there commitment to get there first!

Personally, I was greatly pleased by the sale of Bogota.com for a shade under $160,000. As we have many of the cities of Asia in their local language, I think these will soon be quite valuable.
