Yet another drop of mine is picked up quickly

This time it was picked up on TDNAM auctions - didn't even drop.

Geez, I can't sell these names here but when they drop people are fighting over them!

Any way to see how much it sold for on TDNAM?

Same experience here. Extremely rare to sell on forums for any price at all but almost every name I let expire is grabbed by someone else, often paying $60 or more but if the same name is offered here hard to get even get $6 for it. Very odd why this happens so much. Any ideas why?

If it just sold, you can still redeem it I believe. I've lost a couple names I won there after the old owner realized it expired or saw what it sold for.

Your right and I think one of the big reasons why is; When buyers see domains for sale here that receive little to no interest, They assume the name has no value, After all this is domain forum where the pros know best right?, If the pro's aren't bidding on it, perhaps I shouldn't either.

this has been happening for quite some time now.

i have seen several of my names listed on namejet that had bids, and like others, i got no offers for it here.

but in most cases, i'd rather let the name drop and somebody else win it for $69, than sell it for less.

i do think there is some truth to "assumption of value by others", as someone may want to bid on a domain, but won't make an offer unless another member does first.


it's almost the same with giving appraisals, many don't want to be the first to comment.


then again, the buyers/bidders on nj, gd, snap, pool etc, may have missed the domain when it was posted for sale prior to expiring or they may not be members here or at other forums where you post.

No idea why but it's been happening with a lot of the domains I've dropped this year - I'd say close to 50% of them (even including when I dropped over 20 NNNNN.com domains).

Nah, I don't want to redeem it - I let it drop for a reason and I think it would be very low to redeem it just ot offer it for sale to the "winner" - it would probably cost me more than what they'd pay for it (including the fees associated with renewing an expired name).

Edit: I checked the link - it wasn't listed but it should be pretty recent.

Tres - no I didn't list it with TDNAM but it was registered with GoDaddy (so I'm assuming it was sold though TDNAm since the initial registration date is still attached to the domain).

i always think of the drop lists as like those races where people have 5 minutes to grab all the food they can and cross the finish line

but the contest is about domains not food and the finish line keeps moving

I once offerd a guy $180 for a domain he said he wanted $300 maybe 5 months later i seen it on TDNAM.com and i endid up paying $12, i thought it was funny i was going to email the guy back ha ha .
