I think typos such as Yhaoo are harder to come by on a moble than you think.

yagoo is more likely than yhaoo because users using multiple punches to a alpha/numeric key are more likely to loose count of the keypunching than to miss the number alltogether.

For example, "yahoo" on a mobile is 999244666666 while yhaoo is 999442666666 while "ybhoo" would be 999244666666

Make sense?

Of course, that all goes to pot if they have a QWERTY cell phone :)

Wouldn't initiating contact with Yahoo pose some legal problems showing bad faith?

Huge TM issues. Although the name might get traffic it is more a liability than an asset. Waste of money, whatever the TLD.

lack of imagination.
typos get some people an income, a good income. but theres loads of generic words left. get one of them & build a site or something.
typos are for when an extension is saturated or for the braindead for me.
i will point out IMO.

It might be good typo if:
1.
.mobi becomes popular
2.
yahoo.mobi will be as popular as yahoo.com
3.
If typos on mobile phones will work same way as on keyboard.
That means the mobile phones in the future would need to have qwerty buttons.

Keep this domain for couple of years and you will see.

i agree with arcoplex here..mobi sux..they did a great job of hyping it, in my opinion if the mobile web develops strongly you will still access the .coms from your PDA or whatever and not the mobi tld...this typo is especially bad
