However, two letter domains are prime candidates for development. As indeed I would hope that single character domains will be!

Not quite sure what the best idea would be. Maybe an Auction site?

Due to rarity and potential, I would say mid to high $xx,xxx.

Yes, but we must not be confusing ourselves over current value and potential.

As pointed out in the discussions regarding dot US by others, there is substantial investment required to realise that potential.

I think my appraisal was sufficiently generous at this time.

And knowing more about the spanish language ( am native), probably you would made a very good business paying even 3 times that. Remember the prices payed for spanish language .com, around 150K; and this is a 2 letters .com with many uses.
