I was checking this one out last minute in bidding. I went to www.cityofyonkers.com and it locked up my PC. I guess it wasn't meant for me to own this name.

Excellent buy. Another example of a name for under 100K that could potentially put you into early retirement in just a few years...or less.

lol. when denny says it's a risky TM purchase, you gotta take his word for it.

i agree. $70k is a bit over the top on this one. i guess one can claim that it's a city in new york and put up directory related searches, but who knows...

What TM issue? There's no TM!
http://www.uspto.gov

Are there TM issues with these too?
newyork.com
atlanta.com
lasvegas.com

Most of typo traffic comes as typo of younkers.com. To park it and use the NATURAL traffic is TM
And to use it for city project is throwing the potential of that targetted traffic away.

Yonkers is the 4th largest city in New York. Like a little slice of NYC (with many of its problems), it borders the Bronx. I worked there for a few years. It will soon have the largest raceway casino in the country (it recently opened only partially completed and is already the most profitable in the state). In addition, all kinds of new waterfront developments are in the works. Being a suburb of NYC, located in one of the wealthiest counties in the U.S., this was a good investment.

That's what I was trying to find out when my PC crashed.

Once the racino is at full speed, a lot of the NYC folks who now drive several hours to Atlantic City and the CT casinos to play slots will simply go to Yonkers which is just north of them:

The same folks who developed White Plains and turned vacant lots into buildings with one-bedroom apartments starting at $1,000,000+ (Cappelli and Trump) are now working on revitalizing Yonkers:

Still think we are just talking about department store traffic?

YONKERS - In its first full week of operation, the new video lottery casino at Yonkers Raceway bested its closest competitor among gambling operations at state tracks by almost two-thirds.

Empire City at Yonkers Raceway, the $240 million casino that opened Oct. 11, netted $3.8 million in the week that ended Oct. 21, according to figures released by the New York Division of Lottery yesterday.

With that kind of revenue they may even want to buy it for x,xxx, xxx

SOLID BUY HERE FOLKS!

Without a doubt. They haven't even advertised the racino yet. Aside from gaming, the city is coming back. They are even going to offer a ferry from the waterfront area to Wall Street. In the long-run someone got a bargain.
