They are vitually worthless at this point in time, in my opinion. HOWEVER, they could be used nicely for a personal "vanity", funny address, or something cute like that.

Looks like Heat and I were going over the same remaining 5-letter .US word list today

I picked up 3 myself, but stuck with more traditional words. My favorite is Recap.us since I specialize in media names. That is a very common news term (1.6 million pages on Google) and has also become popular with entertainment sites (especially soap operas) giving a recap of the daily story line. Lots of sub-domain possiblilities too: News.recap.us, Sports.recap.us, SoapOpera.recap.us etc.

Also picked up Pairs.us - excellent dating name (and lots of sports uses like Pairs Skating). 3.6 million pages on Google.

The last one was Usual.us. Not sure what the best use is but I liked the sound with .us. Over 8 million Google pages too. A site could be based on Business as Usual, The Usual Suspects - or just The Usual - all common terms. I like a .com site I saw that uses "The Usual has Changed!" for their tag line.

Of course I'll have to wait on .us to kick in on all of these, but I thought they were good one-word names to uncover this late in the .us registration game.

Excellent picks Duke...especially the first two. You're right about both of us working on the same list at the same time. You seem to act in a more seasoned manner whereas I tend to be more agressive in regging than I probably ought to be. When I tried Recap.US it was already gone; I don't even remember seeing Pairs.US and Usual.US...may be I was going thru the list too fast. One other quality of this tld (.US) that I'm realizing more and more is how nicely it'd rhyme and will be potentially used as a two-letter word "us", especially with certain names such as "trust", "believe", "Pairs", "Whiny.." .I'm pretty positive about .US catching on big time and if that comes true we can't go wrong with names like these; just imagine these same names being posted here with "com" on the right side of the dot....Good Luck to all .US reggers.

Thanks Heat. That was a long list (and thanks to DNS Kidd for providing it) and it is easy to miss names. I have often gone back over the same list a second time and seen names that I couldn't believe I missed. I never even thought about how pairs and .us relate to each other - good point. .us is very appealing with many names, just from the standpoint of language and visual appeal. That is why I took usual.us. Couldn't really think of a good business application but I just liked the look and flow and figured I can think of something sooner or later. I remain excited about the extension's prospects and I am also patient. I understand that it will take a few years, but I am cool with that because I also think it will happen.

Not sure. I have definitely heard the name associated with hamburgers but we don't have Wimpy's here in Florida. Maybe the British company will want to open a US division and Heat can sell the name them!
