I'm new to domaining, but I recently bought a typo domain for $250 which gets approximately 124 uniques/day. A few weeks later, I sold it for $750.

I don't know about my quickest/largest, but slowest/smallest was a domain I bought 1998, paid Netsols reg fees for in many years, and sold this year for $200...:-/
All in all a loss, but it was the web site for one of my businesses, not to sell. But it was several years ago I had any active web site on it, so there was no traffic left either. :uhoh:

Caught one on SnapNames for $300 sold for 10k 3 months later.

Caught another one for $400 there and I'm getting ready to put it on the market - my "educated" guess is a selling price of 15-20k. We shall see.....

I got one on TDNAM once for $5 plus renewal fees... I was threatened with a law suit ( it was a law firm) but got them to buy it off me for $1,000 by playing hard ball.... not a bad 2 day flip.... I love this industry.

Finding high PR, authoritative, aged sites/domains - developing them and then flipping them. With G's recent changes in their PR and ranking algo's, I'm afraid that maybe that "ship has sailed" if you know what I mean.

Very informative advice, and this coming from a newbie (post wise). The vets oughta be ashamed.;)

Along the same lines - $13.99 for an LLL.IN which sold in 7 months for $1000.

Show off :p

Got 2 from namewinner (amazing, when they actually worked) One for $110 and it made me $2500/month for 6 months and then sold it for $30k. The other I got for $210 and 2 months later turned into $7000. Bought a site's domain that was taken down for $2k and it has made $1500/month for over a year and half now.

A few weeks ago, I posted in this thread about a typo domain that I bought for $250 and sold for $750. I am still very new to domaining and have only made 4 sales so far. Since the last post, I have made 2 more profitable sales. One of the domains that I sold was a domain that I bought for $400 and I sold it for $1560. The other was a domain that I bought for $39. I listed it on SEDO and within an hour I had an offer of $750. I put it up for auction and got 1 more bid on the final day which brought the price up to $800.
