The big player does not really care about money, it is just a toy. They play with it.

Zipcar is the buyer. They hired a broker to shield themselves.
I hear their original budget was > $2m

This is rubbish how can thy recover such big money?

address.zip.com
postal.zip.com
info.zip.com

these subs not worth a 1M but nice subs for traffic

and if they have a product with 'zip' in it

yeah, probably worth 1M to them for branding

never heard of a zip car, but for their use, fast car rental

NICE

so yeah, for them, a major asset

but it could do nice in info traffic

not money though in that traffic, IMO

but great price for a shortie

and to brand a new rental car company based on 'fast' service

great domain

now if they got the right funding

they could have legs, since they got a great brand name now

what are they in angel stage pre-ipo startup?

or they been doing this around

never saw one in an airport yet,

zip car rental

they in any major airports yet?

What he said apart from the fact that every subdomain mentioned without development will have ZERO traffic.

And to prove my

point I'm

going to doublespace

my lines. It makes

me sound more intelligent.

A great sale but based on factors the poster above me doesn't understand.

Adonis, read this article about subdomains vs subfolders...http://www.searchenginejournal.com/subdomains-or-subfolders-which-are-better-for-seo/6849/

"With a subdomain, the forum or blog will be listed as a separate entity in the Google search results,
which is good for owning the results and one’s reputation management.
However, Google and other engines will generally not list more than two of these subdomains in the search results,
unless those subdomains can prove to Google that they are independent and relevant entities."

Not a good idea IMO to have subdomains. Why have bunch of subdomains that are treated separately by google making your ranking that harder individually when all of those subfolders can work together to contribute to help you rank higher on google. Besides, the key is that google will not list more than 2 of those subdomains because they think that they are all related.
