Are you serious, selling this brand, after watching that webcast, this is really a dumb move, they have first right of use on the .com.

Why are people from overseas always doing shady things?

Airmax, I agree in your first part. But the second part of your post

-airmax quote "Why are people from overseas always doing shady things?"

Is not correct. How can you generalize this much?

So no local do shady things?

I can almost hear your answer. "yeah of course they do, I never said they didn't, BUT oversea people do it more then the locals." . wow we are in 2012 and still there exists people making generalization like this.

So where did you get that thought from? Do you really think that oversea people in some way have lesser moral, maybe based on cultural, maybe religious, that makes them do more shadier things? Can't you hear how dumb that sounds? Maybe as dumb as the OP.

Trademark is not only trademark. There are so many things in the rules of trademark that you can not just generalize and say this is how it is, without knowing the details.

First; even if one has a trademark, you must look at in which goods and services they have trademark on, then look at in which geo. You might have trademark in usa, but that doesn't necessary mean that you also have in colombia, where the .co is regulated.

But, yes I agree with your first part, that domainers never should register potential trademark issues, as it ruins the domain-business reputation.

Don't take offense to the generalization unless you are doing something wrong, don't take it personally, there is a lot more spam abuse lately from overseas on the risk of not getting caught, and if so what are the consequences... I don't mean everyone from overseas, there are some great worldwide partners, that have done great things for this industry.

To take a new register name of a recent in the news .com, and sell it on here for $1500, I think enough said...

I seem to be getting a lot of spam, from China, and India, selling me names they do not even own, or are redemption locks... I know lots of business owners who are getting these sort of emails anytime similar domains come up for drop...

Maybe the incentive is a lot more for overseas spammers if they make $20 in a day, it might be a good solid days pay in their country, whereas in NA and other countries it is not. I can tell you when someone legitimate emails an end user, they will be so turned off by these daily spams from opportunists that they will not give your premium domain a fair shake, even if it works for them, because they want nothing to do with so called domainers.

I know touchy subject, but it has gotten a lot worse as of late.

Personally I think the OP should be reprimanded for even posting such garbage, maybe they will understand what they did wrong.

Or you could just report the thread to Mods by clicking on the "Report Post" like DNForum says so in their guidelines/rules. Instead you attack all oversea people as being lesser morally people. Good job.

Btw. I have already reported OP's thread as a trademark issue.

PS.: airmax quote "Don't take offense to the generalization unless you are doing something wrong, don't take it personally"

Wow, thats like supporting cameras like in bigbrother-system everywhere by saying... "Hey, if you are not doing anything illegal, you shouldn't worry, only people doing illegal stuff are against cameras." lol thats just too simple.
