This may sound like pure madness, but ZL.com is at NameJet in a pre-release auction! Looks like Zellweger Luwa AG of Switzerland did not renew it.:eek::eek:

Yeah, I'm in the auction... but I feel namejet are greedy and don't deserve to get their hands on names like that :sigh2:

How would someone let a 2-letter .com lapse, that is my question.

Some corporations don't realize the value of their assets but it's not the norm. I have seen some crazy stuff in the industry.
One day I will write my memoirs :D

It's currently at $10k, or 1/10 of its minimum worth.

If it sell below 100k is a bargain.

Namejet is known for crazy bidders, so I'm betting it will hit 200k.

Not so sure about that. There have been some extremely low-priced sales there lately. I would not be surprised if ZL didn't reach 6 figures.

Seriously. Send Devil Dog an email offering it for 10k and Devil Dog will be a happy man.

How could they not know "ZL.com" is not valuable?!

Currently at $22,100
Just watching the auction; there is no way I could afford a two-letter .com. :disappointed:

Not that I know the LL .com market but...

The names value among resellers at this time in the market is $65k-$75k and no more. The unsavy buyer will pay more perhaps but many nicer LL have sold as of late for barely $100k.

I have noticed many companies actually drop domains because they forget to renew. It isn't always about them not knowing value. It does happen.

Acro, keep us up to date on auction. :)

I know it sounds crazy but well :)
In that particular case it looks like they have rebranded themselves to luwa.com and probably were no longer using their short name. Besides, the contact E-mail was set to a @zl.com address so if they are relying on the courtesy reminders... :uhoh:

Imagine had you emailed them or called them and offered like 10k for it..I could just hear them now "sure sir, we can make the deal...we were going to just let it expire!" lmao

Now imagine if it had a quality letter in front!

Whats the auction at now?

I thought some domainer would have all LL.com monitored for stuff like this.

Maybe someone contacted them but they were unresponsive or didn't speak english.

As far as I know, they can still renew it.
