Hello TexasFilly! I like the domain, but I'm not too sure about this "other forum" concept!

How can we be bidding against people at another forum? It's like the "reserve" price keeps going up!

IMHO

I think until we have the new rules its safe to say that this is ok. Its better if the current high bid (no matter where its bid) is viewable by others, in other words its not private auction.

But this auction has no reserve. what if 2 different persons bid the same amount at 2 different places right before the end of the auction?

Cheers

Thanks WebCat!
Well too be honest, I had seen this same type of auction activity with other's who have had a no resv. auction.. on multiple forum's.. so I figured it was okay to conduct.

I'll keep a close eye on the "timestamp" of each bid.. as auction closes, so as too be 100% accurate/fair.

Thankyou!

TexasFilly,

Considering that clocks at different fora are not in sync, you may want to consult your trusty watch if things come to a hairline finish. Just a thought...

good luck with the auction

You're quite welcome!

Although I am a moderator, I am not the MOD of this particular forum, and this should probably be a management decision anyway, but my personal feeling is- not to do it!

I think it is unfair to DNF members who bid in good faith on THIS auction, and is a potential can of worms.

I'm sure you are 100% honest, but I'm sure you see the possibility of "shill" bidding by less honest people.

IMHO,

"Done all the time..." is not an argument for it's rightness or wrongness.

DD8989, you may be correct. I may have missed all the times you are referring to. I have never seen bids made at other forums that were expected to be honored here at DNF.

I'm sure you are 100% honest, but I'm sure you see the possibility of "shill" bidding by less honest people.

For myself, I would not bid in such an auction. But as I said, it is a management decision. If they choose to ignore it, then so be it! I will no longer interrupt this thread.

My apologies to TexasFilly, if I was out of line.

Best of Luck selling your domain!

Webcat,

In all fairness, these kinds of issues are better discussed out of someone's sales thread.

I don't think this is any thing new. If you are calling for a policy change, it is better debated/discussed outside of an ongoing auction. JMHO.
