closed 4 letter domains

I was thinking post this topic in gold cafe but posted here, i would like ask if 4 letters domains cost much?(without number of course)
are they reg-fee?

some are reg fee ... zpqy.com, bqqz.com, twqz.net (unless an acronym or abbreviation for something)

some are worth much more ... aarp.com, usps.com, gold.com

it really all depends on the letters

i also saw that pfay.org is bought form an organization

pfay is pronouncable and no q,z,x so it's not bad ... maybe 50+, but really if it stood for something good it would have long gone ... you're going to have to build it into a brand, good luck
