really need some feedback ..is 800x600 going to be too small?

The designer I was having troubles with came through with a very nice design ..the only thing is how many pixels

http://ws.elance.com/uploads/CF/BF/3325903/alternative.jpg

I want it "full screen" full screen means it shoud fit "most" screens today 14" are long gone lots of 15" ...lots of 17' personally I use a 17 ' monitor..

would 900 X700 1000x800 .. ..is this a type of design that can be set to "stretch" ...opinions please

Yeah, thanks George.. I think I am going to have him optimise 1024x 768 trend continues that way...

Just tell him to do the background image tables at 100% and keep the body at 800x600. If you design for 1024x768 then those using 800x600 resolutions will have to scroll left and right.

I haven't looked at anything smaller than 19 inch in years - but I was heavy into gaming.

1600 x 1200 on my 21 inch
1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 on my 19 inch

No matter what you do - somebody at the very low end - or the very high end - is going to have to adjust.
Better to shoot for the middle and please the majority.

Yeah, popper..I screwed up ..I also use a 19 in monitor.. I figure MOST people are moving into 17 and using 1024/768 ?

but I know you can make tables stetch to pretty much anyones settings.. I just dont know how that plays into something like the design actual template he is working on..

Correct bid,

All you do use a backgroundimage and span it 100%. Take a look at www.webregistry.net/alt.html to give you an example. It took me 5 seconds to do it. Granted, you will probably have to do a seperate background for the top bar as its colors and design are not as uniform as the body of the site (meaning the design concept is not the same at the beginning of the design as it is at the end). Try viewing the page I gave you in different resolutions and you will see that it spans the whole screen. Look at the source code to see what I did there.

Hope this helps
