I saw this website sell on ebay to someone who was "interested in starting new ventures" the owner claimed it made $8600 last month. http://cgi.ebay.com/_W0QQitemZ250526649808

Look at the site and give your thoughts on it. Im sorry but I personally have to call BS on $8600 a month. At any rate the website sold for $8600 with 38 bids.

What do you think?

HI

Sounds like a load of crap to me... the seller only has 13 sales in his record.

and the bidders are private.... that means two of his mates could have bidded on the domain/site

see if he does this 3-5 times.. he can make an ebook or something saying look how much I make from selling sites/domains on ebay LOL

But then again it could before really just becareful...

I'm also calling bullshit on this one. Compete.com doesn't even have any data on that domain name:
http://siteanalytics.compete.com/xtremelacrosse.com/

For website that's making $8,600 in profit from sporting goods, and in business since 2000 there is no way that it could receive that little traffic.

I'm willing to bet this is how it will go.

They don't even show different bidders (Bidder 1, Bidder 2, Bidder 3 etc..).

I think what gave it away for me initially was "Best Gards" at the end of the auction description.. just kidding lol

looks like complete BS, just a small site someone set up in 5 min.

The seller will provide records printed on the toilet paper.
Used paper.....

this reminds me of another member here who also claimed the same type of amount and wanted to sell! It's disgusting!

Well, THIS month, the website made a profit of $8600. LOL!

Well, lets look at it positively. If this can sell for that price, just think what sort of money we could make.

Scam, the biggest thing I catch in 99% of scams is the profitability part. Not many people sell profitable anything unless more money motivates them too sell. Why sell something for $10 if it makes $10 per month?

Umm...because you need $10...keep in mind, I'm not very smart :)

Keep in mind it was an analogy. At the end of the month you have the $10 so why not sell for $20, two month's profit, etc...

My guess is that xtremelacrosse.com will not even resolve in a month's time. Scam.

Keep in mind, it was sarcasm :)...someday I'll realize it hardly ever translates on the web...

LOL, the site doesn't even sell anything! That's the biggest warning bell i can see.

I also love the question from, i assume, the "astute" buyer.

Q: "I am an Bioanthropolgist who has a interest for exploring new venture. Website businesses are my new target. I would like to see this proof of profit you list. Also how long has website been up? Thanks, Hunter"

You would think that anyone who is smart enough to be a Bio Anthropologist would be able to spell it! ROFL

My guess is this is some kind of money laundering exercise. ;)
