if, they are unregistered, then the registry/registrar, is the registrant.

new extension registries, can "hold" certain keyword domains, and just charge more (premium price) than other less desirable terms in same extension.
however, some label them as premium, when in fact, the term in that particular extension, may decide if it's premium or not.

Why do you think it is a conflict of interest creating a reserved list?
I dont know the exact number, but I believe some registries have 100k´s of reserved/premium names.
If I am not mistaken DotTravel started this even before we had the Ngtlds, and DotMobi gave Domains to Sedo for an Action when they started. I remember this because I bought a mobi for 100k or so, shame on me.

Sorry, no, completely wrong ICANN is not government. ICANN was setup by the US government, it is now and continues to be, an international, community-driven organization independent of any one government!

Sorry, no, completely wrong ICANN is not government. ICANN was setup by the US government, it is now and continues to be, an international, community-driven organization independent of any one government!

Metaphorically speaking, they are the government to the domain community.If they are creating any laws or regulations that we must follow,they are governing.
