It hasn't actually been sold. Someone apparently entered a 150K bid at Afternic, but sometimes clowns do that with no intention of paying. In fact I notice the sale is not listed on their site anymore (and they leave all recent sales up) so they may have already discovered something fishy about it. In any case, we wouldn't report it (or any other offer) as a sale until Afternic confirms it has cleared escrow. That's why we didn't report the "$61,000" edeals.com bid as a sale at Pool. Still looks like they never got their money as they are still holding the domain.

....and don't even get me started on how many "offers' I get for domains that the so-called buyer never follows up on. I would guess only about 1 in 5 of those results in an actual sale. The bottom line being no sale has been made until the domain has actually been paid for.

Perhaps that grab is the reason Snap seems to have degraded so much and seems like they hardly make an effort anymore to get names, normally being beat. How would you feel doing that valuable work for peanuts?

Plus, all NW needed to do was target more resouces and they may have got the name after all. Snapnames may have got it based more on luck than much else.

Resellers don't usually spend that kind of money, so there is no way you can call it overpriced..

Can you imagine how bad both NW and Sanps feels after that! NW lost a gigantic profit and NW made a measly $60. Not sure who made out worse, probably both.

Snap was the one who made the $60.

And I dont see why they faired bad.

#1. They did what they are hired to do.
#2. They have 1 very happy client.
#3. They probably gained some clients/orders from thier larger catches.

Snap has worked on some marvelous names, many times over..

Yes, the name is clearly way overpriced. It's a NET not a com plus has ZERO returns at Suggestion Tool, meaning little if any type-in traffic. I would peg the value at no more than 10% of the sale price.

Remember a great name like Tits.net only sold for $16,000, purchased by DomainKing, low priced mostly because it was a NET. P.S. I am not in to porn at all but only mention this since it is so incredibly valuable to a porn guy like DK :evil:

Far too much value is placed on short names, merely because they are short.

Sad but true. Someone tried to outbid me in a pool perpetual auction but it does appear he/she doesn't have the money to pay looking at the whois as of date :-(
