Hello,

I am looking for ideas and advertising opportunities to generate traffic to a domain and internet related forum. Please let me know if you have anything I would be interested in.

Thanks!

your best bet is to search google for domain forums then load them all up and see if you can advertise on them . You are then getting targeted advertising (advertising to domainers and domainers that like forums)

advertise on here :-)

They are not allowing it because it is a related type site!

yeah but some forums will take the money for anything :)

Find related forums, join them and participate in a relevant manner - keep your site link in your profile, and do not overtly promote it in any way. As your reputation on the other boards grows, people will glance at your profile to see what you're all about.

Once you have a relatively positive reputation established, you could try putting it in your signature. Be very careful with regards to the rules and TOS for any site where you participate.

Obviously, there are the traditional marketing methods such as buying Adwords or YPN. There's also MetricsDirect if that's your alley.

I like the viral, guerilla, method that I described first. If you have partners or mods, try and convince them to do likewise (profile URLs, and sigs) on other community sites.

Just my $0.02 - YMMV, of course!

Cheers,

Rob
