I have just read Rick Schwartz's blog - I suggest everyone take a few minutes to do the same.

The link is here
Thanks for posting.

If it has not been discussed by anyone yet, something to keep in the back of everyone's mind is bankruptcy filing. Filing bankruptcy seems to be "the in thing" to get out of debts owed. The big wigs put on a good solemn sad face and bow their heads in shame while they all their hands under the table stroking each other and giddy with how sweet it'll be when the spotlight is off of them.

This is all the more reason for a criminal investigation now!

I think this is why Denny wants his money now.

Good read.. but .. probably started working on the project in august/sept of '04

when the the $69 "snapbacks" ended and thay went to the auction platform

seeing $$$$$$$$

The program was hidden (built) into the may '05 redesign and halvarez was

set loose.. probably some new guy discovered it

why is halvarez on snapnames always not the high bidder?

Unfortunate the original poster areav probably is not aware of the scandal since he has not been online since Oct and before the new broke

Some have speculated Halvarez is Snapnames, which I don't believe. I think it's the Devil.

You should have believed it with 20-20 hindsight.

They should make him to release all of his domains, then auctioning again between the original bidders in that auction.

But, before that, please check, if this was really just that user "halvarez", I'm pretty sure there have to be more.

Class action lawsuits typically result in huge paydays for lawyers and peanuts for plaintiffs.

They also get crooks into the witness box, and peanuts is what you will get without a lawsuit.

The way this has been handled is bizarre. Instead of blacking out the website, halting the auctions and having a letter on the front page of the site acknowledging the massive theft of customer's money, the company is acting like it's business as usual.

Where is the letter from senior management, from Oversee? It is the biggest mistake they are making in all of this, along with trying to slough this off on one employee, one account (yeah yeah yeah). Folks, whatever Rust is advising you, no one buys the one employee theory. It just doesn't wash when you had very public comments on the shill bidder for YEARS on differing websites. Look the other way and don't ask questions. Whatever the truth, the perception is strong and pervasive.

I don't think they really estimated both the furor and tenacity of domainers in subverting the spin and rooting out the truth. I just can't believe you can actually go to the snapnames website and bid on a domain and have no idea anything ever happened. It's very bad judgement, never mind horribly insensitive to your customers. At least ebay has shill bidding software that they use to immediately alert law enforcement in a proactive manner.

1. Does anyone have the earnings/ revenue figures for Oversee? The last numbers I heard were HUGE!! This might shed some light on their approach.

2. Does anyone have the list of domain that Nelson Brady/ halvarez allegedly sold to iREIT?

ireit must have known who nelson brady was. surely he was paid by wire or escrow. did not alarm bells ring with them. or did they have a little 'agreement' ?
i'm not saying this was the case (pred's dsiclaimer:cool:) , merely throwing this suggestion in the ring
there are tons of things like this, and its why a full and thorough police investigation needs to take place, and icann or people in authority in this area

i smell guilt at board level in oversee and snap because they didnt call the police, and just let him go
imagine you're a single mum and working in a supermarket and you nick a fillet steak for your kids and get caught. yeah its wrong. but you get your collar felt, sacked and police involved. but not here. 50,000 auctions. 50,000 acts of deception, theft, fraud and embezzlement at LEAST and they ignore or didnt know for years. my arse! lies
PLUS theres all these other lines which need investigating. how do they not know there was more than one halvarez? of course he had more than one identity

where the f*ck is the justice in our society. theres a lot of anger out there
oversee needs to be raided imho
i already made my mind up too, im taking my names away from moniker start of next year when some more funds about for the transfers.
LOTS of technical glitches in their dashboard etc. dns prons, privacy whois issues etc etc
even payment problems. what sort of registry screws up when you're trying to pay
ive gone hot and cold on this, mainly as i like bari and monte so much, but sorry. its adios
its been brewing for a while. lots of probs since oversee took over . was perfect before

On the way to transparency, SnapNames needs to put an exact figure on the dollar amount stolen from customers. At first blush I know exactly why they didn't release it but as pointed out by someone else, 5% is a number meant to placate and deceive. What matters is the dollar value. If you're really committed to transparency and restoring customer trust, you post how much you stole. Simple as that.

How do you know that SnapNames hasn't contacted the police?

Monte has my undying loyalty, even through this. He is one of the best people in the industry. I have a strong feeling that Monte did not know.

ive read a few times that they have not
and their rep even said 'he cant say'
you can say for christs sake. but he maybe compromised in that he cant give details, but he can say yes or no. the arrogance of them is un believanle

and yes daddy, i totally agree Monte is a great guy, i have all the time in the world for him and i am certain he would not know.
Moniker when it was Montes was perfect, i was so sad to see him sell it. I know hes still there and is only reason i stayed. i was very close to leaving them a year or so ago but bari popped up and shes a charming girl and great help, theyre the only reasons ive stayed, but am fed up with technical problems and this stinking mess is horrible and a worry. i may just ship on out. where i dont know. tbh there is no such such thing as a good registrar, theyre all flawed and lack good ciutomer support. godaddy has really improved i have to say, but because they get hacked so often that worries me

It's plain simple.

You have a parent corporation, that unless it promotes transparency - at the impossible 101% - they will lose all customer fidelity towards their child entities: DomainSponsor, Snapnames, Moniker. It's a snowball effect; rolling down from the hill, the innocent will perish along with the guilty, for as long as there is no openness from Oversee. So far they are at 80%.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Don't sign that form just yet. halvarez "was not" the only user name. Look for this conveniently named user name as well

One thing has struck me throughout today. RUST may not know that domainers work seven days a week, but SnapNames and Oversee.com should know, so where are their 'agents' today? No posts on here on NP as far as I can tell. No one explaining anything, now that is suicidal on their behalf as far as I am concerned.
