last two hours i was trying to figure out: what does it means when somebody tells you : "your timing is off"(on some particular matter or in general)

what means "the timing is off"
what timing?
how would they know its off?
is it good or bad?

googled, all, could not come out with the understandable definition, help please

:undecided:

Lets say your boss just received word that he lost all of his money in the stock market, and you walk in the door and ask him for a raise!

That would be Bad timing!!!

If you asked him before he lost the money, that would be GOOD timing.

it doesnt says - good or bad, it says- "off", is it bad?

It sort of means the same thing Angel, its somebody that doesn't time something well, or is off rhythm, that would be "bad"

It means that you asked at the wrong time for this person, but it could be possible that in a few days the time is right or that whatever you wanted is over and you are just too late.

thanks!

so does it means, the timing can be back on later? if so ,is it possible to switch "timing" on myself or better wait for somebody else to switch it for me?, or is the "timing" lost forever?

thx

its somebody that doesn't time something well, or is off rhythm, that would be "bad"

huh, if that's the case, shouldn't it be then named "timing wrong"- but not-"timing off"?

thx

still confused:undecided:

your timing is off

It is an expression that originated in the music world

You know timing as in music?
The beat, you know ?
Well, if someone is playing music and they make a mistake in the the beat, you would say their timing is off.

Nowadays the expression has spead to the general community, to mean it is an inappropriate time to do or say something

It simply means "this is not the time". The time could come later or it could never come, depending on the situation.

ok, thnx much for clarification, just the confusion happened because of the keyword "timing off", if it would be named- "timing wrong", i would "probably" understand that, so timing is off- means timing is wrong. huh

hope my timing will be switched on soon,:undecided: thanks
