Well, if we consider that in Realstate we can loose our property to the government if we don't pay the property tax for a number of years, specific to each city/country and it does happen quite often, even Realstate could be compared to a kind of ''License" that must be renewed annually. But the government can not take our property at their only will, for example when it gets a high value.
What about AOL? This is the question.

The way I see it, this will gather more attention to the domain community. It will educate people, outside the business what a domain name actually is. how it works and so on. Its surprising to me how many people, to this day; have no idea what a domain name is.

Personally, I would'nt trust AOL with anything. Unfortunately there are still a lot of people out there that haven’t figured out that AOL and the Internet are two different things.
