Hotel.im and Job.im could be quite valuable as the Isle of Man is a tourism destination with obviously the former and a summertime jobs market.

I too have taken the plunge with the leading sports event on the island, TouristTrophy.im, only one for me though as the reg fee is quite high.

Possible mid xxx for good keywords when the domain settles down.

AndyR, I think touristtrophy is a new video game as well.

well good luck.....I am a fan of ccTLDs but not all of them can be considered a valid investment.
.eu seems booming but I don`t know if it`s going to last....personally the only .eu website I visited so far has been eurid.eu

Hi Beachie,

If you had registered it and it was not a 'referred' domain, then it should appear in your domain list in your account. It would therefore say 'unavailable' were you or someone else to attempt to check it. Also, when someone checks a domain (through new domains, not through the actual whois) it also makes it subsequently appear as 'unavailable' for a short period of time should you try to look it up again.

When you attempted to register, did the site send an email to you that included the name of your domain and 'Approved'? If so, then it should have debited your card and put it in your account...

The service still seems to have a few bugs, however. It makes it a little annoying, so hopefully they'll fix those soon.

These names are all worth zero. When new extentions that no one has ever heard of open their doors there are many names that look good, but most are worth zero. Everyone who buys these names then goes out and asks for an appraisal twenty minutes after they have the name.

It is a useless exercise. If you asked a million random people what .im was you likely wouldn't get one person to know what you were talking about. People are getting played for fools by the Registrars and
everyone else.

Support groups will soon form...like .im forums, and new people will be recruited to donate to the cause until another extention opens up and it all starts again.

Well i understand your point WhoDatDog, But i guess i shall disagree with you a bit.Well premium keywords definitely worth some thing regardless of the tld e,g poker.xx etc, i see very nice potential in Games.im, reasons are it can give better ranking for its term games when if i develop it and name is so ctachy it would definitely sell off after some time when it has a proper site up and running with steady traffic.May be i could explain better if i have a time machine and take you back in 1990s and when no body knew there is some thing dot com or any domain and then ask you to pick one from Google.com and Games.im.Potential is all in development but when you have a nice domain along with that potential it gives an edge in your success.

My view exactly...except many times domainers will pay $xxx for these names even though they have no development or commercial potential...

Have I mentioned how much I hate .cc names lately?

I believe you are much better off developing a simple two-word dotcom with the name games in it. You could probably spend a few hours and buy one off of someone for a couple hundred. Then, you wouldn't ever have to worry about whether someone would type it in correctly. I see where you are going with this, but I just think that most of these extentions that are sprouting up are traps and become serious money pits very quickly. Part of the allure is knowing that Games.com would go for millions...it gives a sense of belonging to the owner of the alternate extention, but in reality it's just not even close.

Its like having a degree from Stanford or having an Associates Degree somewhere. They are both degrees, but one has a lot more power than the other. There may be a few people with Associate Degrees who do very well, but they will always be fighting an uphill battle.

I bought a few of these before and felt great about it for about a week.

I double checked it was available, registered it, got the credit card receipt and confirmation email. I don't normally register ccTlds, but this one was worth a shot - sex.im

I agree that some are worthless, especially if the ccTLD is new, not very popular or the country has nothing to do with the name. If the name is good enough though, you can make a substantial amount of money regardless whether it's .com or not - casino.hk sold for 20k recently. I've regged .sc names and a week later had high xxx offers on them. For someone who can't afford to buy a high OVT keyword .com the only alternative is to register ccTLD's and wait it out. Sure, you'll never get what you would if you had the .com - but you can buy a ton of ccTLD's for the price of one good .com and take a volume sales strategy. Personally I think it really boils down to finding the right buyer ... some of the names I've seen selling for large amounts of money makes me just scratch my head sometimes.

Ise of Man huh? Is there an Isle of Woman? Point me in THAT direction!

I do agree that with most that even though other country tld aren't that popular, you should be able to eventually get good ad revenue for names like "games" or "sex".

Sex in any extension would be worth holding on too!! Not a country on the planet that doesn't have sex!!!!

just my two cents....
