In most industries, such as real estate, it is the buyer who ususally obtains and pays for the appraisal. I have a potential buyer of one of my domains who insists it is the seller's responsibility to provide the appraisal. Is this the customary, standard practice in the business of buying and selling domain names?

This is a known scam to do nothing but sell appraisals, do NOT pay for an appraisal.
