I just bought a http://www.interland.com BlueHalo Windows shared hosting for one of my domains to test their services out.

But this is apparently an IP-less hosting. They don't assign you a permanent IP address.

Is this good or bad for search engines? Or it doesn't make a difference?

the probably do assign you a permanent address, it is just shared.

It used to matter because not all browsers sent the Host: header when name based hosting was started. At this point it should not matter if all you are doing is serving web pages.

Maybe it will, assuming you or your ISP does not go through proxies etc.
