Does anyone here "collect" or build area code domains..

Are they good natural type-ins and anyone ever have a legal issue using an area code number as just that... an area code for a particular area...

I have a few .US and they reserved most of them but a few got thru..

I would like to build using them for the areas they represent but not certain if that would be a legal issue or not.

what do you think?

Shouldn't be legal at all. You are allowed to build anything you want as long as it isn't trademarked and area codes aren't. (They change too much). But I don't see any problems at all in that.

Thanks customb, that's what I would think also..but I am trying to sort out which Government agency has control over area codes ? FTC ? .. They can be a real pain if it is them..

But then again..Government agencies take for every to make any decisions anyways.. I could use the domain for years before they ever get off their tails ..that is IF they would have a problem with it..probably wont anyway's

thanks for the response...
