I may be wrong but I really don't believe that any of the current available for reg. names will ever pay you your ($40 or so) dollars back.

Agreed. Although it seems inevitable. The problem is (imho) there are no real end-users around for this extension. The only use I truly see for it is of course the great examples like kiss.me, marry.me, find.me, love.me, nice reg TechPad: authorize.me, and the other being for personal use: myname.me
They build the hype for the land rush, accept tons of duplicate domain applications, put them to auction and make a fortune off of truly terrible names.
