I think it would make an ideal domain for a site with information about bookies, naturally! Of course there has been the recent crackdown on online gambling in the US but sports betting is very popular in Europe and the Far East.
Two of the popular sites with information on bookies are bookies.com and bookiesindex.com.

Any appraisals would be much appreciated.

Not sure about traffic yet. Newly acquired.
Judging by OVRUS the term bookies also seems well used in the US. Of course some of these may be UK searches but I find OVRUS usually has around 10% of UK searchers for terms that UK surfers search for, hope that makes any sense.
I assume it would also be a well know term for Australia and Canada.

it's a nice domain but can't see a big enduser coming in for it. maybe a small developer could do something with. it is a good slang word we use all the time in the UK & i like it. IMO high $xxx reseller. v. low $xxxx enduser
