Hi

Which of the following domains do you think would be best to use for my new search engine/directory. I am hoping to develop it at a large scale and invest heavily in the site, so the domain needs to be easily recognized and brandable.

The domains in question, that I own, are:
  • aSearch.org - Nice name
  • View.cc - Short & memorable
  • Locate.cc - Straight to the point
  • UltraSeek.us - Already has established links
  • Searchz.org - .com owned by Internet.com

There is a possibility of the following:
  • RapidSeek.com - I have a chance to buy
Your thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.

So I guess you're basically asking for some appraisals.

It really depends on what you meant by "investing heavily". My take is that any TLD other than .com is not worth substantial investment, unless in the multi-million range (because with that, you can turn a rubbish domain to household name). To be honest, I would not use any of those .org's or .cc's AT ALL.

By the way, you may NOT want to tell the world about a deal that is not yet sealed. ;)

Thanks to both of you

I was contemplating the .cc domains because of the high keyword value they would hold in search engines like google, as it shouldn't be hard to turn them into first page results for each keyword.

This traffic would obviously be worth alot to the site, and every person that sees your logo/name is increasing the awareness of the brand. :)

But on the other hand I totally agree that with them being .cc extensions they aren't the best domains out there. .com's are far more desirable by myself, and first choice for 99% of internet users.

Thanks again for your replies.
