One vote each DNF member, let`s find the most amazing , impressive or simply the BEST domain sale of the year !

I`ll start with:

NAV.no 4.375 million Norwegian kroner = $717,978 Pvt Sale 5/12/06

The biggest ccTld sale ever reported , it has not been the most expensive transaction of the year ( Sex.com was the non disclosed number 1 ) but compared to the rest it was absolutely crazy......number 4 ( number 5 if we consider sex.com) on global chart and a big Jolly for the old owner.

Absolutely impressive!

I will help with your choice:

check this....

http://www.dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm

(and don`t forget that only few hours ago, antispyware.com was sold for "just" $550,000 at Afternic.......so it`s not yet in that list.

Have fun!

I second the nav.no vote - simply amazing.

Probably struggle to get $200 if you offered that name for sale here.

Yes i'll agree that was the most 'incredulous' sale of the year! ;)
And you're right it would prob struggle to get $200
They must have steamed straight in , cos surely the seller would have crumbled if offered even $20k?
Anyway the 'best' sale of the year has to be Thistle.com for me. ;)
One of mine

Well, sometimes they just have to have something and will pay just about any price for it..or they could just be laundering money, or the ceo or marketing director is putting a few hundred thousand in a buddy's account to be sent by way of "back door" to him, under the guise of a "domain purcahse" but really is just funneling money out of the company..since the company can claim the domain as a business expense at the end of the year...get it?

its one of those sales where I would have to see the escrow transaction.

Most surely a marketing Ploy. Bet .no registrations got a huge boost.

hmmm..

Announcement:

NameStrands Sells SpaceTravelAgent.com for the record amount of $22 million

PVT Sale.. Buyer Unavailable for Comment.

Perhaps I could put out a press release.

it's simple...all you need is a buddy you grew up with or who you know really well that is empowered to spend alot of money at a big company for a domain name...you just figure out what domain and how much he can get approved MAX and then you guys just split it...I mean that would be wrong, ummm yeah. :ok:

You could even offer a big kickback % to a potential buyer that makes you an offer on a domain if he/she represents a big company, you just jack up the price and then it's in THEIR best interest to pay you 20k for it!...take my word for it!

Nav.no is remarkable...who'd a thunk it?

But Vodka.com...that's sweet!

nav.no is no doubt the best reported sale for this year. Apart from that I know of at least two undisclosed sales this year that are at least as astonishing.
