"Maybe" I'll try to acquire DomainPromotion.com so I need to know: what would you choose as company name, DomainEmpire or DomainPromotion ?

Depends what you want to say about your business!
Domain Promotion implies that you are providing a service to promote domains, whereas Domain Empire implies that you have a vast store of quality domains, or that you are "at the top" as it were.
You need to decide what you want your name to say about your company and make your choice based upon that decision IMO.

Yes webname, you're right ... I want to "dominate domains'market" and, under this aspect, DomainEmpire is surely better while DomainPromotion might be a good name if I should decide to broker domains too ... I still need to think about this.

Of course many businesses have more than one "division", so you could have DomainPromotion.com, a division of DomainEmpire.com, thereby utilizing both names.

I don't know yet if I'll reach an agreement but yes, it would be a nice idea.
For now we've DomainShop.net DomainMarket.net & DomainEmpire.net too.
