I don't trust that Boots.ca and Suits.ca are legit sales. Whenever I see something that looks wrong it is most always a Private sale, and you can never really find out any information about it. So, I wouldn't use that as a comparison.
No, I can't prove it, but I would wager 1/3 of my net worth that these alleged sales, at a minimum, are not "arm's length" transactions. And I don't care if they did it through Escrow.com or not. I have seen way too many moves made by people, and I don't trust published sales like this....no more than I trusted Sportsbook.mobi for $127,000 that was listed a few years ago.....the cheap home page still saying....."Coming in 2007".
http://www.sportsbook.mobi/ This was listed at Dn Journal for $127,000 a few years ago. Something was wrong then, and still wrong today.
When it comes to published sales, even at respected places, if it seems fishy, there is a very strong likelihood that the sales are fraudulent. Not always, but almost all of the time when you dig a little further things don't look right. It usually leads back to an extention that isn't dotcom, with the obvious implication being that the so-called seller has a vested interest in posting some strong sales to help his or her other names.
14. Boots.ca $19,950 Pvt Sale
15. Suits.ca $18,900 Pvt Sale
Showing parked pages of course right now. I guess they want me to believe that someone would rather have Boots.ca and Suits.ca than close to $40,000 in cash. Maybe it is true.
The Boot.net name has been floating around for years, and it may well be worth low X,XXX, but I remember seeing some drama with the name 3 or 4 years ago, possibly having to do with someone backing out of a sale.
That likely doesn't have anything to do with you, but since Boot.net has been in front of lots of eyes for many years, I would suggest it is worth whatever the most recent legitimate highest offers have been.
Of course, if multiple people PM you with offers higher than $3,000 or so, then that would be a good sign as to its value. It is a decent name that I normally would say is worth very very low X,XXX, but I assume that some of those who are appraising low-mid X,XXX would give you a few thousand right now. If at least one person who appraised a good amount would buy it now for close to their appraisal, then that is a good sign. If an appraisal of mid X,XXX is legit, then that person should be willing to buy it now for at least $3,000 I would think. It is possible.
Thanks for your appraisals.
According to DNjournal Boots.ca sold last week for $19,950
