If you paid thousands for it and you got an offer of $2000, take it and count you loses.

If this were legitimately box.com and if it was on the market, this would be a 7 figure (perhaps 8 figure) name.

Just make sure that the buyer understands it is an IDN if you do sell it. If you have represented it as BOX.com to the buyer and they get the IDN, they will be upset and it would probably be considered fraud.

For my sake, absolutely. Seems the seller (A) did not disclose this or (B) the buyer was tripping trying to snatch box dot com for a couple of grand and did not check, read, understand the specifics.

Your domain is worth $0, absolutely nothing, so I hope you didn't pay much for it. Sorry.

You guys are kicking his ass. He made 1 big mistake as opposed to many others here who've registered 1000's of crap domains. His loss is still small compared to all those renewing domains thats will never sell.

Ice - Sorry for your loss and I hope you're able to recoup it.

You make a point, but even mediocre domains can still be developed ;)
Buying domains at $8 a pop is like buying a lottery ticket, but one shouldn't spend 'thousands' on a single name without doing some research.

Unfortunately a name like this is only 'good' for phishing purposes.

Ice, who sold you this thing ?

I'm unclear, did icenevermelts think it was a regular domain and it turned out to be some IDN? If so, you were scammed icenevermelts.-

- Did the seller tell you it was an IDN and you just didn't know what that was?- You've only been a domainer for two months so you must take this as a lesson.- Good luck.
If they do make you any offer at all just take it.You may never get a second chance for your IDN.-

So the domain is actually xn--b1ayv.com an IDN.

Although many here would disagree, proper IDNs really can have significant value if they are real terms with good search volume and/or traffic. Unfortunately in this case the domain is not a real word in any script.. even if it was коробка.com which is "box" in true russian it still would probably only be worth about $100 imo. Just part of learning, but make sure whoever is offering you 2k knows that it is a mixed script domain and not pure ascii www.box.com.
