Yea, i've tried DN's Domain-Retreivew but everything is showing 0 or w/e.

Anyone know a script on a site? (Free and Preferably Unlimited Domain Input)

*Im not looking for OVT only like Googe Linkpop.

We're having a few probs still, but it can do 100 links in almost no time at all. It spawns background processes which handle the work. :-)

Thinking about selling a copy of the script once you get it up and working?

Anyone else tried http://www.guruware.com/dev and have any comments/suggestions before it goes public?
Scott,

This is a great little tool. I've tested it out and do have a few comments/suggestions you may want to take under consideration:

1. It would be great if the results page could be output so that each column's data was in it's own "cell". That way a user could do a "select all" and paste their results into a spreadsheet to use for historical reference.

2. Returning 100 results is great for the average user, but many who have hundreds and even thousands of sites would find the interface time consuming for that reason. Why not offer the 100 results for free, and then offer "power users" a $5 a month "subscription" to be able to log in and a separate screen would process "unlimited" domains?

This would be much like what Uptimebot was doing, except you would not be hosting results. You may know that they recently took their free service away and are now offering a $5 monthly subscription fee for that same service. (I'm sure that became so wildly popular that it was cost prohibitive to continue to offer it for free).

So, the time may be right for your little tool to grab up some opportunity!

Thanks for a great tool! Let us know when we can "tell the world".

Hey Lauren,

Thanks for your comments. I'm probably going to introduce a compulsory registration system with the option of a paid upgrade, simply to stop automated scripts.

In regards to 1 and 2, I could allow the results to be exported to a CSV file (comma seperated, so it's easy to import into Excel or any other similar program). This will most likely be included in the monthly subscription package. However, I'm not sure about allowing unlimited, since Search Engines don't take kindly to several automated processes hitting them continiously. I'm sure I could work out some kind of limit, or perhaps a sixty second pause every thousand queries.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Those are great ideas. Mandatory registration is of course, a necessity.

The unlimited domain searches is probably not the best plan. (I had my domain owner hat on when I thought of that). But the timeout between searches would work fine for whatever limit you do set on the upgrade version.

The ability to export to a CSV is a fantastic plan and really adds value to the paid subscription idea.

I was OK with using Uptimebot (when it was free), but I was never totally comfortable with them hosting my result data (and thereby having access to all my projects). I like your idea because it's a great tool that just gives the quick data we need, and can be exported for historical tracking.

I'll be happy to promote this once you get it launched.

actually i am also looking for a linkpop checker.
previously i'm using domain-retriever but it seems to rot away.

and the dropshark doesnt seems to improve, it never have linkpop feature that it promised to have.

100 domains is nice but if it can feed in a text list of domains and start to check the linkpop, it would be better.

And of cause i think those who want to use for huge qty domain linkpop check dont mind to pay a small fee.

I could probably allow you to upload feeds, then it could grab the domains (or try to). I'll be working on this shortly.
