Good move.
We already own most of their cyrillic generics.
The biggest barrier is set up by the domainers who love translit.

your all cyrillic generics will become worthless when they replace .com with .ком or whatever else

i think they need just that .ru names are accessible also from .рф
nothing else

1234.ru would be 1234.рф
(just like a suffix alias)

why should one country have three TLDs and other countries only one?

also, it would dilute the russian market (value of both .ru and .рф domains would be lower)
and would be confusing to consumers too

Москва.ru should be automatically accessible also under Москва.рф
and the problem is solved
