Hi everyone, I hope this thread is posted to the correct group.

I bought a domain on afternic, met the reserve price being asked and transferred the money to afternic. The seller is not responding to daily requests from Afternic to get in contact with them.

Since we have entered a legally binding agreement and I have made payment - I initiated a domain transfer request.

My understanding is that if the domain holder does not click the verification link in the eMail sent them within a certain time frame then the domain is automatically transferred - according to ICANN rules.

However, this domain is locked.

Has anybody had any experiences like this?
What can I do? How should I proceed?

This guy could be dead for all I know :emba:

You can't transfer if the domain name is locked.

If you sent payment to afternic then ask them to unlock the domain for you (i doubt they will) or to refund your payment.

if the domain name is locked there is no legal way to transfer it to you. I would suggest asking afternic representative to contact them over phone to speed up the transaction, otherwise I am sorry to say but will have to ask for the refund.
